This is an intriguing photo that makes very good use of the separation of photographic elements provided by shallow depth of field. The background holds just enough detail for the viewer to be able to integrate it into the overall setting.

The flowers show some similarity to sorrels (Oxalis) ?

Thanks Bjorn.  I am not knowledgeable, but a search for Oxalis brings up many yellow flowers that look like these did.
