I would have posted in Critique but last time I posted there I had zero comments/help
Edit: Unfortunately the EM1 images were jpeg.  I had a rush job to get my wife's EM1's updated with 4.0 (she required a silent camera for a job) and forgot ...duh... that all of the settings were returned to factory  .  Just can't get the sharpening down in jepgs.  I normally have the EM1's set to -1 sharp.

Thanks Gary, 1 out of 7 is pretty good for me    .  I spend a lot of time in the fishing villages.  I know most of the boat owners but the worker bees are mostly from other states , change a lot , so really never get to know them (or them, me  ) .  I really used to spend time with the Trawlers and Trawlermen but the government decided to restrict photography at the Jetties

Yup, so do I  . Good, cheap street food  . These are good but my favourite are the ones with spinach and Paneer (similar to cottage cheese or Ricotta) .  Unfortunately the Tibetan Restaurant closed a couple of years back

Thanks - I do like your B+W processing especially the way you get skin tones. Not easy to get the shading and contrasts that look like skin without adding a lot of film grain. I know some people think that digital B+W skin looks plasticky - but the shading and analogue like differences between everyone's skin is just right.

Thanks JJ, the Oly images were difficult because of jpegs.  The "Weird Woman" needed a fair amount of noise reduction (define 2).  Shooting a young girl with flawless skin is always a pleasure.  I've known her since she was a baby.  She was not posing but was aware of the camera.   I'll work on it again since I really had to work on blown highlights in the upper left and really accentuated the green fringing  .   I am happy with both Batis lenses.  By the by..... I've given up on the Voigt APO Lanthar 125 f2.5 at a price I'm willing to pay but have been thinking about your 180 APO Lanthar .   For me, the Df still provides the very bet skin tones and textures 

A couple of months back there were  two on eBay UK (one in UK and one in Japan) and a dealer had one.  Not unreasonable prices    .  Now I cannot find 1  .  Down to a decision between waiting it out or going for a Leica APO Telyt 180 f3.5. The Leica APO 180 f2.8 is outside the 'play' budget.    I wanted the Lanthar in the Nikon mount or second choice in the Leica R.  I may just see if I can improve my results with the 180 2.8D on the a7II , cheaper  .

I always enjoy your photos Tom. And I like your BW conversion in this series.
The momo photo somehow doesn’t appeal me very much because of the trash bin in front. I would have asked the shop owner to move it aside before taking the shot or would have tried to find another angle to avoid it. :)
“Unloading the night's catch” - I like this one the most. This photo has many interesting elements and I like how bw conversion pops up.
“Making a point... normal bright, harsh light” — this framing is too tight for my taste.

Thanks Anirban, re: the trash can, if I had asked him to move the can it would no longer been a Candid of him and the two customers and with the 75 f2.5 that was the best position.  I rarely try to physically arrange the scene .  I've been know to bend a branch if it is in the way for an ideal perch in shooting birds  .  In "making a point' it is pretty much full frame.  The lady making the point is Saeed Mirza's wife and a good friend.  She knows to just ignore me  .   I shoot many functions and events where I am known to many if not most.  Normally there are Photogs from at least two or three of the Newspapers getting posed images of the VIPs attending.  I shoot stand-off for the real candids . 

Since I know the people, some of the most interesting, funny and embarrassing never get published, but I do send them to the people and they often windup on Facebook  ....their decision 

The young women waiting at the Bar were waiting on a the daughter of a friend of mine and are also known to me which is why I left the legs dark  and did not make my presence known.  I did show the group , three more arrived, the images on the LCD as we left.  Goa is a small place 

I have probably a several thousand fisherfolk images , glad you liked it.

When I am shooting children I love to get the interaction between us.  They are always candid , unless embarrassed/shy, then up to me to make them feel comfortable .  I shoot many children of the many Migrant Workers.  Then they always love to see the images and I always carry some candy to give to the parents, never directly to the kids.  Funny, sometimes the kids do not get the candy , parents like sweets as well 

We all have our ways of doing things and how we take images.  Also, believe it or not, my being a foreigner does impact even if I have been in India 18 years

It has its own pros and cons, I'm sure you will agree. When I shoot pictures, people more often ignore me, even face to face. So get very candid shots even with a 18/35mm. But on the other hand, if I stick around after the shot, I do get questioned a lot; where as most people wouldn't question foreigner taking pictures because many will be shy of their communication medium. That's why most of the time I shoot and don't even look back.
It will be fun if I ever come to Goa and we go out shooting together!
