Hi Folks: Just registered. I'm a retired, 68-year old amateur enthusiast who's looking for a new (well, new to me), fresh discussion forum that's less emotional, less combative and one with more expertise collectively than the big one based in Seattle, Washington. I'm here to learn more about the equipment, art and science of image making. I have a D750 and a D7200. Anxiously awaiting the D500 when released in the US in March - it's pre-ordered.

One of my bad habits (per the Mrs. besides expensive Merlot) includes spending money at a ridiculous furious pace on this Nikon stuff. I have an assortment of good Nikon glass from the so-called, average medium range kit lenses up to and including the 300 f/2.8 VR-1 and the 200-400 F/4 VR-2. Looking forward to learning and sharing here. Thanks, Jim F.

Merlot is not my favorite variety but I did not say no when a friend
opend this bottle to share with me a few days ago.

It is a Bordeuax style expensive South African brand well worth
every Cent.

I am well equipped. So, even as I still share the fascination for
new and improved equipment with many here I also have the
discipline to sell gear I do not use regularly.

Welcome. Looking forward to your contributions.

I shall enjoy ... and I will post upon D500 delivery and initial impressions. Supposedly, we in the US will start seeing D500 deliveries about the third week in March (if one pre-ordered right after the announcement... as I did). Not sure of the expected deliveries in the rest of the world.

Thanks everyone for your greetings. Best regards ... Jim
