My little pond is an endless source of entertainment both in terms of DIY and photography.

Technically no problem Simone, I just wish the flower head had a little more room!

I just love them as they are. They tell a story that "weist über den Rahmen hinaus" = >>spreads out beyond the frame<<, maybe?

apropos frame ... I do not like the "Trauerrand" = >>black border<<

Thank you both, Mike and Frank.
I kind of like the framing of the second.
I have several variations with more or less flower in, more or less leaf on top, and this is the one I prefer.

Regarding the framing, you are right Frank. I am not too convinced either. But I would like to put some sort of frame to my images; once upon a time it used to be a white frame (for a dark background) but now that the webpage is white I have to find another solution and I have not found a fully satisfactory one yet.
If you have suggestions I'll try them out.

Try a five pixel black border blus a light grey passepartout, or something along these lines...

That's nice, thank you. I'll try some variations of that.

I really like #1. Not that the water lily is bad, but #1 really get me thinking about what lies beyond ... above and below ... left and right ... to and fro. Sure it looks peaceful and serene but what insects and fish are hiding in the rushes ...

I have a backyard pond also.  It is very relaxing.
