After leaving the restaurant in Roundstone, I went down the steps to the harbor:





Apart from the simple color vs. BW question, what else could I have done differently? I could have moved to the left and right for a few meters, but fond that position the most interesting one.

I like the 2nd one better, it is another picture
no birds and no 4th mast give the 3 main masts the dominance that makes it and bw give it a timeless look

Thanks, I'll try to crop the bird one so that the superfluous mast is out of the image, I think that will help it also.

Why not leave the birds in the b&w version?

Makes the image a little more interesting IMO.

Hi Andreas,


I like the B&W version better.  I think removal of the fourth mask helps.  In the color image, the birds seem to be hardly differentiated from their background.  I wonder if a B&W version of that image would change that tonal separation.  Just my $.02

I think the fourth  mast helps make it more interesting somehow and I like the birds ann b&w makes it timeless. I dislike the half boat on left 😉
