Can't see the forum profiles of members.

I'm getting an error message, that I don't have permission to see the page. Occurs with every member's profile I'm trying to look at.
Is it meant to be like that? It wasn't before.

This is an option we have been asked to restrict because it would disclose members' e-mail address. An improvement I'd like to see in the near future is allowing only NG Supporters to access member profiles.

Does the forum software have enough granularity to allow access to view members' posts while restricting access to other, more private, information?

I made a minor adjustment to member permissions. Frank or other regular members, please try if user profiles now can be accessed, or PMs sent.

We have a limited granularity as far as permissions go, unless we create more specific member groups. At this stage of the development of NG I'd ratrher not delve into such aspects.

Members' email addresses are not viewable because we have this setting un-checked:
Admin > Security & Moderation > Allow viewable email addresses > (NOT CHECKED = NO)

Members should be able to view other members' profiles because we have this setting checked:
Admin > Members > Permissions > VIew other people's profiles > (CHECKED = YES)

These forum software permission settings have become almost as convoluted as the Control Panel etc. in a certain OS ....

I just have received PMs from members to tell me they can indeed send these now. So apparently we have eschewed crisis and mayhem once again.

Now I am logged in as a regular member.
I can see can see other members' profiles.
I cannot see other member's email addresses.
I can create PMs.

Bjørn, I've got the perms down pat if you need anything.
We do need to define a specific group for the Beta Testers so that their perms are managed more easily.
When I return from an appointment, I will take care of that.
