I'vew heard that you must be careful when cleaning the very thin inner concave elements.  If use alcohol, the glass can be cooled too quickly by the vaporing alcohol, which may cause the cracking of the element.

You seem to have got away with the cleaning using whatever method possible.  Nice job!
