Never heard of CPO either, especially in relation to Nikon.

MIOJ and the red "PX" in rhombus are the only special punch marks I know of relating to Nikon during the occipied Japan period.

I got a Canon with the CPO mark, searching in Google told me that it is in some way similar to MIOJ :o :o :o
It is so disgusting I cannot wait to get rid of this lens as soon as I have overhauled it ::)
What a disgusting company. Hope you guys can help me find a buyer

CPO – Central Purchasing Office – mark used on items sold to the Allied Forces during the occupation of Japan after the WWII (1945-1952). Sometimes also accompanied by ‘Made in Occupied Japan’.

This is what I found on the web. Hence, the two marks can be present together, and essentially are equivalent
