!!!! Nikongear to move to a new hosting provider !!!!
« on: October 23, 2023, 11:26:26 »
hi all NG members and visitors:

Due to the unacceptable rise in web hosting costs by our current provider, we have plans for moving the site to another hosting service. This will happen shortly, and entails NG being set offline for a short while. Meaning a time-out of somewhere between 1 day and 1 week.

Do note the IP address of NG will change concomitantly, thus after the move you likely need to delete all NG cookies (which is simple, as there only is a login and session cookie, no advertising etc. !!) and log in again.

We sincerely hope this move also will solve the all too frequent connection issues seen in the last months. The new VPS should be more powerful as well, so hopes are for a snappier response all over.

On behalf of the NG Crew,

Birna

We intend to take NG offline at 25 October, 0800 CET.

Hopefully, NG is back online early next week. We do not set any definite ETA as all sorts of events might interrupt the process of transferral and getting NG operational again. You might try to access the site by 1 November. Then use the site entry point of https://nikonget.net and follow the link from there.

Due to my other commitments, we have to advance the shut-down time earlier than previously announced.

Thus, Nikongear will go OFF-LINE this evening at 2200 CET.

If the photon wizards are with us, the site might be back at November 1st, 2023.

Our IP address will change, so clear any NG cookie and try to log in again once the site re-emerges from the cybershadows
