Oh My Gourd . . .

. . . it's Hallowe'en!

There is splendid celebration of Carved Pumpkins decorating a half-mile Trail though the wooded park at Croton-on-Hudson, New York.
 


These were all carved by the same artist:



The organizers claim that there are 7,000 pumpkins and gourds but my reconing is that they undercounted by some quarter million. Larger items are assembled from many pumpkins with part of the design being carved into adjacent gourds.

I am glad that you enjoyed the photographs.

I had enormous fun taking them: the organizers' publicity implied that one could see the whole thing in 30 minutes but I spent over two hours there.
The degrees of skill and ingenuity of the pumpkin carvers, coupled with ever-changing lighting and suitable sound effects, was truly inspiring.
