I've been spending time in Alaska with my mom for her 93rd birthday. She puts up with me taking lots of photos of her. I've been using my old Nikkor 85mm f1.8 K version, which does well on my D5500. Here she is listening to jazz before her haircut yesterday and reading afterward.

I also love the before & after aspects of the sequence you've captured

I was fond of my 85/1.8 (pre-AI) back then and your photos bring back the reasons why ... A nice and co-operative subject adds to the overall output quality too.

The 85 is one of the very few lenses I ever sold off and I still regret the sale. I must really have been going through a bad patch? So got a specimen of the 'K' version a few years ago. Erik helped me adapt it to the modern Nikons and a CPU added made it even more practical.
