I now have ED :o :o :o
full of mushrooms, needs to be cleaned. ::)
glad to see that it is smaller compared to the original 50-300
-
I recommend that you sauté the mushrooms in butter.

I wish more people were posting. I'm sorry I don't have anything worth posting at this time.

This picture is from June 2018, taken with Nikon D7100 attached with AI-S Zoom-Nikkor 50-300mm f/4.5 ED, aperture f/11. I always use f/11 on this lens, "sharpest" aperture recommended by Bjørn/Birna Rørslett.

Sorry, I ment RØRSLETT!

i won't go beyond f/8 for this lens :o :o :o
my left arm isn't that strong ::)

What a classic. I've owned a few of these over the years, including Ai-S, Ai and the dread non-Ai, and only sold the last one a few years ago when I realized I wasn't taking it out much. Hope you'll have a great experience with yours

this one easily took more than 15 hours to overhaul :o :o :o
impressive construction, even the aperture ring has a suspension

My copy, by now quite battered, of the 50-300 ED AI floats permanently around in the trunk of my car. One never knows when it comes handy, only that it will at some time. Just put the metal 95mm front cap and/or the hood on it and it is well protected, even from myself.
Just a few random samples pulled from my archives when I did a search for '50-300'.
