well, havent dismantled it yet since the workshop has to be cleaned and its too damn cold :o :o :o

the AF works, doesnt squeak but VERY slow. it travels with the velocity of dripping molasses. ::)

i wonder if I could just polish the stator as what a legendary Nikon repairman told me...it's worth a try. I hope it's just some wires touching the body causing a short.

Looking forward to this one! I saw a repair of this one some time ago,,, quite intricate  :o :o :o
