Thanks for reviving my fond memories of the D3, which after all was the reason for me visiting Japan in '07. Would dearly wish to visit the country again.

Always amazed at your work and your generosity to share it.
Thank you will not cover it but there it goes..
Thanks!!!

Very nice Richard you gave new life to this camera!

The Nikon D3 was the only highly computerized device I have ever owned that NEVER malfunctioned, locked up, or annoyed me in any way.
It did have one flaw...the fogging of the rear LCD cover glass. One of my 2 D3's fogged up while still under warranty, so I had Nikon fix it. But then, that D3 re-fogged itself and the other unit also fogged up.
I did this repair on both of my D3's. At the time I bought the exact replacement Nikon die-cut adhesive foams and replacement glass LCD covers from a local repair shop that also sold parts....a situation that could not happen today.

;D Funny and well written 8) Seriously - D3 The FX Camera!
Was sought after, my first new digital camera a very worthy sucessor to D1 D1Xs and D2Xs that I was shooting in the beginning.
And what a camera! Thank you for the write up ;)
