Title: The old and the new
Post by: RBSinTo on September 24, 2020, 15:22:50
Currently there are still a few working telephone booths in Toronto, and I got three of our grandchildren to pose in and around one to show interesting juxtapositions of the old versus the new.
This is one of my favorites of the shots I took.

I really like this RBS.

(But guess your granddaughter couldn't be persuaded to use the one with the cord on it....?)

A telephone booth could still serve you well when it rains.  A heart-warming image.

Ian, PeterN, ColinM, Akira,
Thanks for the kind words.
Colin,
It wasn't a matter of persuasion, but rather explanation. None of the three grandchildren who took part in the shoot had any idea what a payphone booth was, or how to use its telephone.
Or wanted to. Remember, it has no screen, so why would they want to?

I remember someone talking about a young toddler picking up a kids book....then getting frustrated because nothing happened when they swiped the page....
