650g only!
-
The disadvantage with these new expensive lenses is...too much money involved.
The advantages there are many of.

Yes, the suggested retail price is quite high and spoils the fun :o When the 14-24mm f/2.8 came for F-Mount it was affordable as I recall,,,
I'll be keeping the F-Mount version and even use it on Z7 with the added bonus of having rainbows included in most sunny images ::)

650g only!
Yes that's 300 grams lighter than the F-Mount, substantial

Pice incl. vat in Denmark is 2.800,- €

MTFs etc
https://www.nikon-image.com/products/nikkor/zmount/nikkor_z_14-24mm_f28_s/spec.html
It is indeed impressive Nikon's engineers have kept the weight to 650g. It will be packaged with 2 lens hoods listed; HB97 takes 112 mm filters, and this zoom can also use rear gel filters.
-
MTF at 14mm is amazingly good, basically a flat line across the top. MTF at 24mm shows some drop-off towards the outer part of the image, but otherwise equally impressive. Looks like an excellent addition to the Z lineup. Not sure who will use 112mm filters with this lens, unless it is protection from salt spray etc.
-
If the distortion aspect isn't bad, this lens is going to be absolute gold. Z mount really flexing it's potential with this one! Color me impressed so far.
-
Along with the more humble 14-30/4.0, Nikon's new super-wideangle zooms are literally epoch-making: both allow to use front filters without bizarre adapters.

New review and comparison - Comprehensive!

Looks like it performs very good - Only nitpicks compared to the F-mount version is the back ground Bokeh is not as smooth and the high $£€

thanks! probably too long for what i need :o :o :o
i just want a cheap 45/2.8E ::)
