Ruth is acending from the water at our secluded island situated in the Hvaler archipelago, southeastern Norway. Very peaceful and the weather -- that day -- was very comfortable indeed.

Actually,  from a vantage point we can observe the Swedish border. However, due to the difference in handling C-19 pandemic, we cannot travel to Sweden now without having to be quarantined 14 days afterwards. So not that tempting :(

Rainy day, which is good we need all the rain we can get; has been too dry the last few years, groundwater levels have been dropping aprox.10 cm per year.

John very  real portrait
You can see through the eyes

Bruno it’s look like night dancers, excellent contrast

Paco I like this composition very much, personally I would prefer the same a bit earlier to have more open purple

Thank you Nasos. I completely agree. The file has been massaged towards that end. On the premises, sunset is very fast now in Spain.

A Dogwood on the corner of my house has one branch left filled with blossoms, not so a week ago when the tree had more than I cared to count. Why it works that way is something I don't understand. My Crab Apple had one blossom bloom when all the others had fallen away well over a week before. Same phenomenon in a way, only a different tree.

Since the lockdown is officially over we have many young birds in the garden feeding.
The first nesting must have been unsuccesful, which came early and we had a severe dry spell and many predating magpies aggressively hunting the nests. So the second nests are plenty and the weather has changed back to more normal weather...

Ian, is the yellow hue on the clouds coincide the way you actually saw in the field?  If not, the blue channel might have lost the info.  I find the highlight recovery of Adobe apps is amazing.  CNX-D is excellent as well in this regard.

This was the result of a last-minute thought to try different profiles in Lr. It is not something that I normally do. My previous efforts were not as pleasant.

I have been using Lr since I switched to digital in 2013. Consider me a fan too! I'm happy to have discovered the value of profiles  ::)

Lovely bouquet, Fons

First night looking for Neowise, with a bonus meteor.
ISO6400
I want to shoot this, but it has been cloudy , I tried yesterday as it was more or less clear view towards the east but couldn't find it, I rushed to the roof without looking at stellarium to get a better idea where it may be

It is higher in the sky than I thought. I could not find it at first. I needed a smartphone app to get the azimuth and binoculars to find it.  Having read everywhere that it is very low, close to the horizon,  I was not looking high enough.

Not much time to post here on NG these days, as I'm literally swamped by my aquatic macrophyte work. The project is in its 4th year now and the pace has been stepped up -- not my choice, but those with the money, as always,  have the final say.

From this evening's work shooting details of the Northern Water Lily Nymphaea candida. A cross-section of the stem of a lily pad (floating leaf) to show the intricate support and aeration structures involved.

Laowa 25mm f/2.8, Z7, 4.1X magnification. This is a small crop,  by the way.

Yes, it is really nice.  When I translated the interview to Tony Bennett at a hotel in Tokyo, there was a large glass with the sunflowers just like your image.  When I said that reminded me of Vincent, he said that he was just reading the correspondences between Vincent and Theo, and told me that he was impressed by Theo's letters.  Tony Bennett studied paintings and and music at the art school.

Not specific to the Brownie, but Kodak had major manufacturing in France and the U.K.  The last few years of Super-8 movie film (that I saw here in USA) was produced in France by Kodak-Pathé. Every once in a while, during the 60's/70's  there was British-made Kodachrome stills film for sale in the U.S.

Latest development in the DIY adapter area: focusing adapter for old Fisheye-Nikkors (which, by design, were fix-focus). The adapter allows for infinity focus as well as close-focus to the front element.

I used a color profile in LR (iPad) thats made this structure more visible, its usually grey to the human eye
No time to set up a tripod so it’s hand held
In the absence of VR I used iso 800, f4, 1/250sec
The cicada was 5cm in length
I took several photos and try to have the eye in  focus, I used flash with better overall lighting just once before cicadas fly away but no lack in eye focus ;)
Thank you

It had to happen ....

Welcome to the Laowa 24mm f/14 "Duckweed Edition" lens .... adding a CPU to it was a breeze too. The Powerbank powers the (dimmable) LED lights in the front of the probe. The narrow front section of the lens is water-tight which for me was amajor inducement to getting this specialist item. Can do for sundry other subjects such as ants etc. if duckweeds don't take your fancy :). Focus is infinity to 2X life-size and apertures range from f/14 to f/40, meaning the built-in ring light is quite handy.

Rain during the fair

I love the juxtaposition that's possible with puddle, reflection images like this John.
How was the festival? Did they win through, despite the effects of the rain?

John, floating reflections. Making good use of the rain.

From one of those workshops "movement and image" Trying not to bore you all, here an image from today that goes in a different direction. Taken in the heat of an dance improvisation.

It was a small scale festival due to the Corona. Everything was okay, despite the 1.5m distance.
