Title: Adding a third dimension
Post by: Jack Dahlgren on April 11, 2020, 18:40:37
Purists might want to rail against the recent developments where an artificial intelligence hallucinates a third dimension to your two dimensional photographs.
Others might think this is just the beginning.

We've come a long way from silver nitrate.

It's never been easier to make bad, boring pictures. At a lower price, too.

Aside from the fact that "real" 3D cannot be gotten from a flat display (stereography is possible), it looks like a great way to take a locked-off shot in a movie and add an jiggling earthquake effect.
I'll take their word that the new technique gives slightly better results than the current state of the art.
