I did buy my daughter an EM and got an FG for my son. Not sure any of those cameras survived to this day.

That was my first camera, with the 50mm E lens. After I had a bit more money I splurged on the 24mm f/2.8, and bought a 135mm Q from an old newspaper which was shutting down. These are still in my cabinet.
To be very honest, I was never happy with 35mm film.
A year or two later I picked up a well used yashica TLR and used that extensively as well as 4x5 and a baby graflex which shot 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 with a roll film back.
It was not until the D200 brought adequate quality to digital that I jumped back into SLR format.
A few years back I bought an F3 for old times sake - the camera I always wanted but could not afford - and my son used it until he went away to college.
Odd how a simple object can bring back many memories...

I really liked the F3 trigger and the sound with motor on. A very iconic sound. The iconic sound used in movies it seems....even if it was another kind of camera. HP viewfinder not bad either :-)
