This morning's snap of December Sky in Goa.  Taken from kitchen.  It has already been very hot but this was a pleasant surprise.  Z6, 24-70 f4 S, 36mm , 1/125, iso100, f8
Largely OOC , cropped some wires at bottom and lifted some shadows.  No sharpening and camera STD.  metering center weighted

Thanks Tom,  she will move there with her boy-friend. The top floors of an 19th century building.

Looks like a beautiful "Mansarde"!

Does the Irix lens work for you well?
Yes. The top floors of an old Villa in the center of the City.

Yes, lovely lens. No distortion, very sharp, flare resistant, better colours than the Sigma lenses.  And a pretty large upgrade over the older Nikkor 15/3.5

Congratulations.
Thanks Fons

I read there is some large sample deviation with the Irix, so I guess Tristin was unlucky with his sample.

Red rust, black steel, yellow/white primer, blue concrete due to lighting. Colors are pumped up a bit. Watching some of Birna’s work I’ve come to realize it is ok to sometimes show a scene differently than you saw it.

The "Maßwerk" is being renovated. I created a triptychon from three pictures.

One shows the "Maßwerk" where is lives usually, high up on the tower
Two shows one broken piece taken down to the ground for reconstruction / repair
Three shows the place where the piece in Number two was taken from

The original JPEG is 120 Megabyte

Today's snake (todays snap) Still had the 24-70 f4 on the Z6/  I had meant to put my recently arrived 50 1.8 S on the camera.  My son is not trying to bash the snake but pin the head so he can grab it.   Just a harmless Green Vine snake but the Maid hates all snakes so I had to go open the gate so he could put it in the last bit of my jungle.   If not for the Maid, I would have kept it in the garden ,   I am going to have to keep a different combo on the ready.  The D500 was already mounted on the 500 f4 G vr on a tripod on a balcony.

Experimenting with the monochrome NEX-5N that Vivek gave me in Den Haag, plus one of the really old and long Nikkors, viz. 35cm f/4.5 Nikkor-T from the mid '50s. A few lens adapters were required to make a temporary connection: original N-F tube for the 35cm to give F-mount, Novoflex F-S adapter to make S-mount, S-E mount adapter to allow mounting on the NEX.

Went out for birds before sunrise , just messing around with Z6, afs 80-400.  This was a great spot for birds about 3 years back.  It was a swamp but Property developers blocked off the river and Migrant workers have stripped most of the wood for cooking.  Handheld.  Also did a different angle in B&W  ;)

John, yes think Nikon did a marvellous job, a light well built camera, but so different from e.g. my D850.
I am still on the learning curve. My setup for the most part corresponds with my dslr's, but there are some important differences.

Yes true.  Most important change in setup, in my case, was the zoom for the viewfinder for 50% and 100% (on the fn1 and fn2 button).   After you get used to it, it's difficult to go back to other dslr's  ;)

The IBIS is a great asset.

and general menu walk through,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjmVxrqgPVo&t=134s (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjmVxrqgPVo&t=134s).

On lenses the native s line-up is not to be missed, for now i have the sharp 50mm, will
get a few more, adapted afs lenses do hunt a bit, are less reliable.
(My Tamron 45/1.8vc doesnt work on the Z6).

Yes, this is an anechoic chamber we use to test products. It is quite disconcerting to be without the usual sounds we use to understand where we are in a space. Green is the NVIDIA color. 30 second exposure by the light of a cell phone.

I availed myself of a slight break in the snowfall to put the mighty 360-1200mm Nikkkor on the tiny Z50. Very very hazy with snow in the air so contrast is low. The combination gives the green "dot" (actually, quadrate) in the finder of the Z50 (lens is chipped), thus focusing is easy despite the slow lens.

An appropriate feature of Dec 24 in my neck of the woods, as seen from my veranda.

Beautiful shot Fons, the color combination is wonderful!

I wrestled with Electronic First Curtain Shutter vs Mechanical Shutter until the firmware update that allowed for auto-selecting EFC or Mechanical shutter depending on shutter speed and I guess some other variables.  The very quiet EFC along with the new S lenses and the size and weight of the Z6 have made it my all time favorite camera.

Great overview Bill.  And what a nice blue sky.

Thank you John.

It is very difficult to find qualified personnel in Germany these days, especially in Health and Service. There is work and there are people searching, but the people searching do not match the needs of the employers or the qualification matches but the ideas of payment does not match. Happy the qualified who can choose their employers and pay and happy the employers who find and keep matching workers. All others are f*cked basically. This guy owns five restaurants. Currently two are closed because he cannot find reliable cooks and service personnel ... And these localities are institutions in our quarter ...

Good image, Frank. In Holland the same situation, record low unemployment figures and almost impossible to get a good and reliable builder, painter, plumber etc. Too many students are selecting studies for a white collar job.

We don't celebrate christmas as such, but the time of the year is great for arranging parties for family and friends. Which usually ends up in a mass jamming event, given my girl friend Ruth is hosting the gathering :)

It looks promising, VR is outstanding, I can shoot hand held at 1/50 @ 500mm and get sharp images, after getting past the weight, it is easy to use,  and glad to find out that it did not need AF tuning on my d800 as every other lens that I own needed it.

The liberation of Brabant was 75 years ago.

75 models show scenes in Brabant related to the liberation in 1944.
