Title: Pictures that are not
Post by: Bjørn Rørslett on June 13, 2015, 10:15:21
... what one would expect. A pet theme of mine, in fact. By using image space negatively, you can create visually enhanced presentations and convey sentiments so often lost in translation from a real-world facsimile.

Two examples from yesterday, both shot with the humble 1 Nikon AW1 camera and its equally humble 10-100 mm f/4-f5.6 1 Nikkor CX zoom lens. The camera although modest in appearance and capabilities nevertheless can be forced into yielding to the photographer's whims instead of the opposite.

First is the "Human Footprint", next is "Captivated Polar Bear". Read and interpret these contributions as you like. The titles are just stray thoughts running through my head whilst approaching and framing the subjects. At this stage of my workflow I'm running pretty much on automation so it is refreshing to try to understand later what really (sic) made my day.

Certainly different and your ideas have at least made me think "outside the box" as they say.
