In autumn 2018, Simato and I went by boat to the remote Coir' Uisge (Coruisk) on the Isle of Skye, for a 2-day stay, and enjoyed superb weather, perfect for photography. I went again last week with my wife but this time the weather was sunny but extremely hazy, so hazy that conventional landscape photography was almost impossible. Also, Simato and I hardly saw another human being, but Mayumi and I had to share the location with 40+ Easter tourists.
So most of the images here are of the journey to Coruisk and the journey home; not much of Coruisk itself and this is a rather random selection. as a result.
1. Glen Tarbert, Sunart
2. Harbour warehouse, Mallaig
3. On the ferry to Skye
4. Moon over Sgurr nan Gillean, Coulins
5. & 6. Moon over the Coulin ridge
7. In the glen at Coruisk
8. Leaving Coruisk and the Coulins
9. Dawn 1, Skye
10. Dawn 2, Skye

All very nice Dave, but i really like #8!
-
Like Hans I also like best the Elgol view of the Cuilins.
Love the orange and black water.
-
Thanks, both - I like it too.
I'm not ashamed to tell you that the raw file consisted of one tone of mid-grey and about six tones of light grey - almost no colour visible whatsoever. I slammed the colour saturation over to 100% to find out what colours were present but not visible and then played with the individual colours, saturation and hue until i got a result that was acceptable and credible. I don't often do that much to a file.

Well regardless of the weather you always get interesting pictures.
Looking forward to meet the master :) Maybe I will be able to learn just a little bit.

8#, 2# for me , quiet and relaxing

#5 and #8, for the similified composition and atmosphere!

Very funny, Bent, actually I am hoping to learn from the others, like you. But thanks for posting, and thanks also to Akira.

Lovely, atmospheric images, Dave. You made the most of the hazy/cloudy conditions! My preferences are numbers 7, 8 and 10.
Looking to catching up in just over two weeks, and sharing some of that beautiful scenery - I'm sure that you will have had a chat with the weather god before then (Jupiter, Freyr or whoever is in charge now).

Thanks, Mike. I like going to Skye and usually manage to bag a couple of images, but I don't often get good results in hazy conditions.
Good weather - twice in a row? There's a first time for everything I suppose. ;D

A final few more from the Skye/Coruisk trip. (Some of these are also relevant to the upcoming Scotland Week)
1. Gulls in Mallaig harbour
2. Naval workboat in The Sound of Sleat
3. Beinn na Caillich (Skye) still in winter drab
4. Tourist boats gather at the landing-stage at Coruisk
5. Seals at Coruisk
6. The Raasay ferry leaves Sconser.
7. Cloud-window, Red Coulins
8. Loch Duich and the hills of Kintail
9. Woodland in the Great Glen

Very nice follow up, David!
I especially like the last three for the great sense of the near-far depth and contrast.

Very nice follow up, David!
+1

Thanks, Akira and Keith - the three you mention would probably be my own favourites, too.
