Jonathan (JJChan) and his son Josh, a nice and well-mannered guy who has just graduated from the high school, are visiting Tokyo. So, why don't we spend some time together?
Interestingly Jonathan, Josh and I share the same interest other than the photography: music and musical instruments. So I decided to show them around some record shop and the music stores.
As with the meeting with Airy, we agreed to post each others portraits.
1. Jonathan and Josh at a music shop trying a headless fanned-fret guitar.
2. After the stroll, we spend our last hour at a cafe.

Thank you, Fons. Yes, that is a Paul Stanley signature. I know you also share our interests. :)

Yes - we had a very blessed time with Akira-san who was most generous with his time and very patient whilst we looked through Tower records and gazed at many musical instruments.
Akira - though a bassist has pretty good shredding chops - the headless guitar was a Strandberg - Swedish design. We had a very fine afternoon - lovely way to spend our last day in Japan. If anyone here needs to get ANY information on music technology or want to know about any musician (Akira seems to have met them all!) he is your man.

JJ, I'm glad you enjoyed the meet up! Hope to see you again in the near future.
FWIW, "Otamatone" was developed by Meiwa Denki which is actually a unit of the artists who are brothers:

"Otama" stands for Otamajakushi which means "tadpole". We japanese call a musical note "Otamajakushi", because they (especially a quarter note or an eighth note) look like a tadpole.

Hi Akira
Back to reality with work and no time
Here are a few other shots taken on the same day. Thanks again for the meeting and looking forward to catching up again next time.

Last picture was same corner with Nikon F501 Velvia AF35-70mm probably at 35mm in 1999

Hi, Jonathan, thank you for the bump of the thread and nice crops of the city. The last one is an interesting addition. FWIW, there was still the Contax Salon in the building on the right of the cylindrical San Ai building (notice the Kyocera sign). A scene from the last part of the film days...
I did checked out "Never Can Say Goodbye" album. A fine and pleasant duet with occasionally additional instruments. I also checked out the Wagakki Band and some K-POP whose CDs Josh was looking for. Nice to look into something I would never know by myself. :)
Your way of shooting without looking into the viewfineder has been popular among some sort of photographers, but watching you actually practicing that was quite inspiring.
One question: do you correct the vertical lines? I ask this because all of your images are perfectly level. :o :o
Hope to see you again in the near future.
