-
Ahhh thanks Frank. With all your support, suggestions and equipment. ;D 8) :P Actually Gunver pressed the shuter in the last one because I didn´t have anymore hands ;D ;D ;D
-
A very small part of that "Critical infrastructure with Sierra Nevada excuse" follows below (Nikon D500, 85/3.5 Micro).
As evident to everyone, I had the Sierra Nevada range as my motif. Thus not needing any "excuse".

We went to the huge Nevada shopping mall in the morning on our last day here in Granada.
I got a new summer dress and miscelleaneous items such as a cordless mouse in Spanish livery. The latter made Frank envious so he got himself another mouse, and to top it all, a new and expensive Sony head set. Or so he thought, because the sealed box literally was vapourware inside -- no merchandise at all ... Fortunately he asked the cashier to open it for him so shared his surprise with her and later after some heated discussions got his money refunded.
-
Frank, thank you for 0337.jpg. :D
-
After Frank had been so royally screwed in the shopping mall, we continued to the very small Botanical Gardens in order to revitalise our mindsets. We alternated between the nice 'Botanico' café outside with orange juice and Alhambra Beer '1925' refreshment and the floral enchantments inside the Gardens. Frank in particular did a few turns to get the Oenothera to his satisfaction.
They had intersting stuff such as a beautiful Iris germanica in full flower, parrotfeather Myriophyllum aquaticum, and Egeria densa, the two later of course were my personal focal points of interest not Frank's.

The other four are gone. Planning for a Saturday of cruising and discovery. This Friday is for recovery, letting the intense days pass by my inner eye, drinking beer, reading a wonderful book. STARK BOOK: "Killing Commendatore" by Haruki Murakami. Blows me a way. Naked truth in unconcealing words told with shiploads of Humor.

Here is the landscape situation in a picture from my car: snow on the near mountains, heat in the valleys

The Dansk came from another planet? This explains a lot! You have proof in pixels!
Wow for the series, esp the "Bent picture"
Looking forward to more shots from the series ...

After seeing Paco's shots from this morning ... I stopped reading and start editing pictures. I have so much I like to share and add to the picture...

ran out of beer.
got 6 beer and 6 kilos of oranges.
one klio oranges per beer.
question: how do I make the oranges drink the beer?
answer: I will find a way.
Editing finished. Now posting.
First set: "Francisco"
some background information:
1) worldwide stores pop up, run by young people searching for the "real thing". This is the "real thing" bread & coffee store in Granada. All artisian work combined with Biology. It is just round the corner from Paco's house, the bread is phantastic, the coffee very good and the owners are very friendly and well educated. 5 out of 5 stars!
2) Paco had his field day with his D200IR and the AF-S 18-70 DX. I was shopping earings for my ladies at home and the "Andalusian Dog" protected the establishment.
3) Paco is a very beautiful person and if we were gay we might mary ...
4) In Andalucia they serve food with every drink you order at no extra charge. So oder more drinks and you get your lunch or dinner as a bonus. The habit is called "tapas" and this is a potato salad with some fishy note ... yummy!
5) Paco's neighbours are squatters.
6) Paco in front of his current home.
-
When abroad I look for installation and building habits by professional interest.
In Spanish villages there is no such thing as a straight line.
Straightening an image during editing means telling a story with no obvious context.
How very interesting.
Second set: "Spanish construction" (never ending topic)
-
set three: "Spanish construction (2)"
This set seems to me more like advertizing for the D850 at base ISO with the "Neo-Noct" 1.4/58G
-
set four: "roads"
ouch! I can tell stories about my experience with car rentel in Granada...
... ended up with a HUGE car, the only working model they seemed to have ....
and the streets can be NARROW, as in: step out of your car to get the "ears" = side mirrrors out of the way and still only have 2 cm left on both sides, or, where Paco lives, cars cannot get through at all. You walk or you drive a motor cycle our you stay outside! I drove these roads with an Opel Insignia....
... Gunver, Birna and Bent were actually in the car so there are witnesses!
-
last set, background:
1) father and kid
2) little shop next door with no specific concept or opening hours. Very nice & friendly owner!
3) Public space and institiutions are very well mended in Granada ... better than in Germany!
4) The Roman Empire influence seems to be extremely visible in some places "CEL"

the remaining food stuffs I assembled for cooking are next to nothing (on the right). I do not eat bananas and Birna does not eat bananas anymore.
The food stuffs on the left came to me yesterday afternoon and I see a great photo opportunity in the oranges...
-
I have been further up the mountains. Great vistas. Great rocks. Great vegetation. They even had a bathtub there!
-
I returned Friday for a stop-over at Dragør, Denmark to visit my brother and his Danish wife. They had gone a-sailing, but a message on the entrance blackboard indicated I shouldn't worry :)
-
Later, my friend Erik ['Dr. Lens'] appeared with the special-cut lens hood for my 19/4 PCE Nikkor and the 50/1.2 Nikkor, the latter once again restored to its former CPU glory. Kudos to Erik :D :D :D
Armed with the 50/1.2 and the special AFS extension ring Erik earlier gave me as a birthday present, I now could do something with the endearing dandelions springing up everywhere. I literally fell for this little bloom trying to make its impression on a nearby fence.
-
Dandelions are superb objects for close-ups.
-
only ten minutes from our house, but it rocks!
The roads are not for shy drivers and you need a bit of climbing skills too to get to the best vantage points
