I was treated to a great afternoon yesterday listening to Mr. Goto's talk. here are some pictures that I took :o :o :o

Thanks for the description and photos Richard.  Very interesting to see the technology of making cameras progress.

the stories are even more interesting such as using jet engine oil on the F just so that it will work on -20 temperature. :o :o :o

and the MDX prototype that was lost in the taxi  ::) the MDX is a camera with A and S modes and a built-in advance. This is 1977 I think.

What was interesting was the Nikon F originally was to have automatic exposure mode and even autofocus.  ::)

Thank goodness for Nikon's 100th birthday... Nikon finally feels free in allowing its history to become a little more clear...
