Title: He walks the forest by moonlight, tending to his flock
Post by: Randy Stout on March 14, 2017, 00:25:42
Taken last night, after I saw the reflection of the moon on my deck.   As a lover of Tolkien, I was struck by the ent like appearance of the central tree, with its long legs, striding along.

D500  35-70  hand held

Advice and comments always appreciated!

Cheers

Beautiful atmosphere with the suggestion of precious silence.  Weren't you satisfied with the color?  I would guess the diffused orange moon and the surrounding bluish color would look nice, too.

Akira:

Thanks for your comment .  The moon was high enough, and the night clear enough, that there was almost no color to the light, just a faint blue glow.  I thought it lent itself well to B&W because of that.  I will revisit it again however!

Cheers

The pattern of the trees is quite different from other photographs of the moon through trees. The photograph is striking and beautiful.

It will be interesting to see a color image however I think B&W is perfect for this subject.
