About 4 weeks ago I was in Amsterdam and found it to be a target rich environment for street photography. If you did not get a chance to see these at a certain other photo forum please hop over to my site and take a look. Unfortunately, the trip was cut short due to my home flooding in Houston.

Amsterdam is indeed a nice city to go to also for street shooting :)

I was not home at the time of the flood. However, I took lots of photos of damage to my home and contents. These were necessary to document the contents claim and aspects of the structure claim involving concealed damage and damage during demolition. The police were discouraging people from taking photos in the days after the flood and I did not want to upset my neighbors so I refrained from doing that. Once my insurance is settled, I never want to look at those shots again. I have not yet received an offer on the insurance and other homeowners are just starting to get theirs.

Thanks for your concern. Flood insurance does not pay as well as regular homeowner's insurance. I will have to lay out a good chunk of my own money. It's going slowly because the adjuster's work is subject to two levels of review. Then my contractor will review it to see if he can do the work for what insurance is paying. Usually they will provide an additional amount. I don't have a permit to start work yet, although all of the key paperwork has been assembled. There is a lot of red tape because the house is in a 100 year flood zone. The bedrooms and a couple of baths did not flood, so we are staying in the house and will remain once the hammers start to swing. As bad as it is, most affected by this are in far worse shape than I am. A lot of people gave up and are trying to sell their place for land value. Sometimes the neighborhood looks like a ghost town.

Ron, hope you and the people in your area can go on with the least possible damages from the flood.
Among the set, I like the "Crosswalk" shot the best because of the variety of expressions of the pedestrians.
