Title: Locked out
Post by: dgpno2 on December 24, 2016, 11:12:25
I am in the rescue phase of a computer near-catastrophe - long story - most of my data is intact (multiple backups) but credentials for many sites including NG have been lost, and I don't remember my other (main) pass and username. Typing in my email address to begin the retrieval  process, I just get a error message. Help!

And a good Christmas and New Year to everyone.

Oh, Dave, sorry to know that you are still in trouble!  Hope our administration will be able to recover your main account here!

Assistance is sent by e-mail. Hope your issue is solved. If requiring a new password doesn't work, we can set a new one for you.

I take the opportunity to extend on behalf of the NG Team our warmest thanks for the wonderful stay in Scotland earlier this year.

Thanks, Bjørn and Akira, for your concern - I'm back in again in my normal guise. My iMac now seems to be running very well; I've installed all my most used software; I've hooked up and examined all my main data back-up drives. I'm touching wood, but it does look as if the worst is over.

The next challenge is to get my Mac Pro running again via a "Restoration" start-up from a Time Machine clone. I've never done this before.

Good point, David, I must remember that. He certainly used some influence recently over my various bits of silicon.
