well if there ever was any doubt about where technology is going... ;D ;D
Quite the sales pitch :o

Ha Ha Ha...

I trust this is a joke....
-
Ahhh, finally I can bin my DSLR 8)
-
Finally the lens has arrived to protect all of us from bankruptcy!
-
Finally my Lord... we are saved!
Let's pray...
-
I just want to say - laugh all you like.. :P :P :P
But do you KNOW this is going to happen in the near future ;D ;D ;D
-
"Almost sold out", i.e. they'll always have quite a few left. :D
-
Finally a solution where the device is more expensive than a set of lenses. It is really comforting to know that an investment of $29 is a long-term investment and a $700 investment is short-term. ouf.
-
Oh well, in the bin my D810, D500 and D750 goes.
Embrace the future, oh the future is here! ;D
-
I am glad you are all on board. It would be a shame to get stuck in the past and not move forward ;)

I bought these for whooping 14 Euros shipped to my door. They are fun to play with on my smartphone. Especially the Super Wide Angle seems to be quite decent optically. The Macro has ZERO subject distance, so you basicly scan the surface with the front lens, the Fisheye has a resolving power of a beer glass bottom.
Almost sold out? You can get them everywhere with a gazillion different brand names. The base price is 14 Euros including shipping or 13 US Dollars plus shipping, but you can pay more if you like.
Funny play things

Reading this I realized I have one of there 8x magnification lenses somewhere in a car cubby.
It's an awesome lens, it has serious purple fringing built in, it would take you some serious weed and time to replicate this in PS 😀
The focus is overly sensitive given the very shallow dof, and it helps to soften the purple fringing when the Foto is slightly out of focus.
It also has about 3stops worth of vignetting built in to hide the drop of in resolution in the corners.
The vignetting also becomes asymmetrical when the lens continuous to move around on the phone due to the poor attachment design.

Frank - you almost make me want one! ;D ;D
Fanie - you just succeeded in pushing me over the edge :o :o

Does the damned thing actually exist? You can buy a Lovo Moto Z and clip a zoom lens camera accessory on it.
Yes, but what I want to know is when will Nikon put a cell phone into a professional dSLR? How cool would it be driving down the freeway with Nikon to my ear singing along with Paul Simon?

I forget to mention weaving from lane to lane.

oh yes. At least you can take photos of the nurses when you recover from your accident in the hospital

With the Ultra Wide Angle you can even take photos of ultrawide Nurses as they sit on your bed without sitching ;-)

wondering if there is an adapter to install it on my D800 ;)
-
Frank,
That clip-on thing you linked looks less convenient than a pocketable P&S. Do people buy from Amazon while drunk? I can't see how that thing is in anyway convenient. At least the Moto Z devices attach securely or so I suppose. I think any semblance of convenience is gone once something is attached to a cell phone.
