Title: D800 underwater shot
Post by: armando_m on June 28, 2015, 05:02:02
Using a fish tank , holding it from the edge of the pool, wide shot pointed in the general direction of the mother, AF dynamic area activated by the shooter
The tank is made of plastic, if I do this again I'll get a glass tank

Color is complicated ...
1 layer with default color white balance
2nd one with gray point on her top , masking her from the rest of the pool

Since I know how difficult this is to get right - all I can say is - you are brave :)

Getting the model to be posed how and where is a challenge - never-mind getting her to stay floating at that hight.

Elsa, she deserves the credits, I told her we should try a normal session but she insisted on doing it in the pool, it took her probably a couple of hours of stubornly tries before we got some decent poses that she liked, being with the nose pointing up under water is very uncomfortable, another thing, the pool is not heated, when we checked images she was trembling. All I did was spray and pray.
Brave lady!

Now I have plenty of images left to process ...

the veil like garment is something good to play with in underwater shots. they add to the flowing motion.

Here is a different edit of the first without the green halos under her

You can edit this in so many ways... the whole capture is just so intriguing and well done, I would definitely do a B&W with a lot of contrast...

Amazing shots and impressive persistence from the model but it certainly paid off!

Perhaps photoshop away the stair, if possible?
