I wonder what the squares on our avatars mean? Also, what does the difference of color and amount mean? :o
-
Squares?
-
Yes. There is a yellow one above your avatar, too.
-
OK, now I understand. I thought you meant on the avatar itself. I think that the single square just shows that you are a subscriber.
-
It is a category identifier. Yellow means 'NG supporter'.
-
Hi, Birna, thanks for the clarification.
So, the red squares above our beloved administrator have something to do with Kremlin?
-
Yes, that is how the system is laid out :D
-
So, no one can escape?! (I miss that devil icon!)
-
Only by not being an NG Supporter. But then you will in the not too distant future be unable to contribute or see any pictures.
The NG Team is still accumulating experiences with the SMF software that runs this site. SMF obviously is targeted towards communities in which ranking is achieved by social interaction ('like', 'karma', etc.) or posting numbers. we wish to break out of that, to us less meaningful, mindset.
Perhaps we rearrange or remove the current category system altogether. Time will show.
-
except for identifying moderators or administrators i would think they are counter-productiive.. they certainly don't motivate me to post more..
-
Bjørn, please take your time for small improvements.
I'm with Bob and your plan doesn't seem to contradict that.
-
No problem we can live without the yellows.
Perhaps we should turn this inside out and make the *non*-paying members carry the burden of the Yellow Icon ;D.
-
You mean, yellow card? :D But then, how about the red card?!
-
much better without the yellow "burden"
You, Bjørn should get you 5-star-general-honneurs back IMO
Looks more harmonious
-
You mean, yellow card? :D But then, how about the red card?!
Akira: As you all know, I have already been 'awarded' the Red Card and had to leave the playing grounds.
Frank: Five-star generals are overloaded with distinctions. We try to simplify the matter.
We let it be for now. There is currently a problem with the member grouping that prevents us from giving only non-paying members the Yellow Card.
-
Oh, Bjørn, sorry for reminding you of the unpleasant experience...
-
I think I know how to change the colours in the software if admin/mod/member colours or tokens are wanted. Let me know.
-
I'm just fine with the Red Card. Andrea deserves the peace-keeper's Green Card. The three other members of the Team (Jan Anne, Jakov, Erik) are cool so their current Blue Card suits them well.
Take all together (R-G-B) , we are a whiter shade of pale. Or white as the driven snow.

That's great! So fitting!

RGB very nice all three combined look like an old CRT with DOTpitch

I will have you know then that several of us should have a red square. You are in good company. Or otherwise put - we are birds of a feather. Stick together.
-
I wonder if we could make it a red bar, blue bar, green bar, yellow bar instead of square??
-
The "square" is just a gif file. Easily changed in shape.
-
What about using a circle instead?
