The first video of my visit to a game reserve with Mark Wallace from AdoramaTv and CreativeLive
And please don't laugh as I look like a dork. Ask Bjørn - I am not a dork. Truly.

Elsa , you are not a dork but he is, especially for his American pronunciation of the Nikon name. You definitely look embarrassed though!
-
Elsa, you are so sexy, darling :)
Nylon rhymes with Nykon ::)
-
Mark's red t-shirt is a no-no! Muted colours for safari, please.
And blue (e.g. jeans) attracts tsetse flies, maybe not a problem in SA.
-
All I can say is - it could have been worse :)
thanks for looking guys
-
I can confirm Elsa is NOT a dork.
I can confirm Elsa is NOT a dork.
I can confirm Elsa is not a dork.
There. Triple confirmation. The matter is settled.
Elsa is in fact a very nice person and fun to travel together with.

wow Thanks Akira - I dont like listening to myself - by you are welcome to haha
oh come on - come visit the lions yourself :)
omg you should have seen this guy - I thought he was going to soil his pants when the lioness mock-charged him..
I couldnt stop laughing and I dont think he thought it was funny - but then I do know what to expect
-
I did laugh when Mark kept insisting on the tripod and you told him that animal move and handheld is easier ...
-
ya these kids thinking you can use a prime and a tripod in the field ;D
One must understand - he had NO clue what to expect and this was a whole new experience for him.
I simply could not prepare him for what was waiting - which was a good thing.
He absolutely loved the intimate experience
-
fun video! Great job;)
Also some nice Leica M images he got there!
-
Elsa, you are not a dork, but Mark likes to talk, but very little information ::)
Some nice footage of the animals, remind me that it is a long tine since I was in Kruger Park with my Nikkormat 8)

Make no mistake - the Leica impressed me plenty. And traveling with everything you own on a bike - is not half as romantic as it sounds. Space is at a premium - and he packs his Leica, Profoto studio light, battery pack, video light, Lumix for video and his clothes.
The videos have to be very short for Adorama, so that is very difficult. He had to cut a lot of footage we shot.
thank you guys for looking. I wasnt nervous - just felt exceptionally awkward - at least here I had something to say - but in other footage I stood there with my mouth full of teeth. I am hoping to get good exposure - but there are no guarantees in this world.
He was a very nice guy to meet, and I hope to have more photographers visiting me! it is so much fun sharing South Africa with other people - especially when they have NO idea what to expect. Mark thought Cape Town was just a place to land his bike of the plain, and drive onwards. Ended up staying more than 2 weeks
-
Elsa, this is good!!! I will love to see the second video
And to come visit, of course!
Thanks for sharing it
-
Frankly I do not know what a dork is. You look like a beautiful young woman to me...
-
Gulonvolo - you are MORE than welcome :)
Frank - thank you for your kind comment :)
-
Very entertaining video, with beautiful views on the surrounding. You make a good impression, Elsa !
I guess it is difficult to have a normal interview with someone who wants the word all the time ;)
-
Apparently none of NG folks pay any slightest attention to Mike Wallace. Poor guy....
-
whaha probably because he doesnt look like a dork ;D

Maybe because of the level of experience of the NG members vs the level of experience of his general audience ... ?
I met him when he passed though Gdl, he is quite an interesting character, and has stories for every placed he has visited
His way of living is quite different, and just that makes him interesting to talk to
and we have known Elsa for far longer :)
Mark is all politeness vs Elsa who just say it straight and that is more fun

Armando, don't take my comment seriously. :D Except for those who had met Elsa in person, I'm sure we are all interested to see Elsa in motion!

Can't come to visit you - at least for a few years - but you are welcome to my home if you pass by Manchester.
BTW agree with the comment on Mr Wallace doing all the talking. You had kind of a bemused look whenever he interrupted you :)
-
Thanks for sharing Elsa.
I'm looking forward to visiting Africa some day.
Two observations:
That fence separating people from the lions seems no very safe!!!! I was quite scared while seeing the scene.
Bjorn must be very happy to see the sturdiness of the guy's tripod. lol
-
You got him some very nice shots Elsa!
I too can confirm from personal experience that Elsa is not a dork. And she is a great guide who puts in a huge amount of effort to find the best places and show you what you want to see.
-
Thank you Aguinaldo and Peter :)
Aguinaldo - ppl are usually not allowed in the section - and I agree with you
Peter - next time will be a LOT better than last time :) looking forward to seeing you!
Simato - I have never been to the Uk - unlike 90% of my friends :) one day...
