the 1.4m to 1.1m minimum focusing distance on the 70-200 is very useful! :o :o :o

And judging from the magnification increase at min focus distance the focus breathing "issue" has been seen to.

I will wait on this one.   Focus breathing is very bad at close focus on the current lens.  Was hoping for lighter. Sorry Sten, I'm slow.

A 0.21x magnification is the same as the newest Canon counterpart.

And judging from the magnification increase at min focus distance the focus breathing "issue" has been seen to.

The lens will focus up to 1.1m at all zoom settings, so the largest magnification factor should be achieved at the longest 200mm setting.

Based on the magification factor of x0.21 and the focus distance of 1.1m (1,100mm), the focal length at this setting is 157.776mm (if the calculation is correct).  The lens definitely uses focal length shortening method.  I'm not sure if that would lead to be breathing, though.

IMHO What matters is; Can I shoot a close up portrait with the lens without needing to crop half of the pixels away ;)

It is one of the tasks needed when facing a completely normal work situation with such a lens ;)

A fourth PC lens was to be expected, 19mm instead of canons 17 mm though

Appears to be the first Nikon PC lens that enables aligning the tilt and shift axis without surgery

The 19 would be a hot contender for the content of one's banking account hadn't it been for its darned price. Or perhaps the other way around. Not a lens one buys without a second consideration.

However, the specifications and samples are pretty convincing. A though choice awaits me.
