I was fortunate to be able to attend the Goodwood Revival 2016 event that ran from 9-11 september. What an event. In the 1930s through 1960s racing was a popular happening attracting many people. People were looking forward to those wonderful days where excitement, joy, and social networking replaxed daily worries and activities. The Goodwood Revival Meeting enables visitors to re-live the spirit of those days. The Meeting was founded in 1998 by Lord March and has since seen an ever-increasing popularity.

I will take that as a compliment Elsa. ;-)

Nice work Peter - thanks for sharing all of these with us; ditto your link.
Good to see that it was more than just older cars being revived for the day. Your first image here is very apt with the guy and his two film Pentaxs and his partner with her film Bolex. These cameras were right up there in their day. All good!
what an interesting combinations of images!

I've been looking at these pictures over and over again. What a great set of images, what a great overview of the festival!
Very well done Peter, i know how hard it is to summarize an event in "just a few" pictures.

Thank you for your kind words. It was so much fun to do.
I am thankful to Lord March, owners and sponsors who made it possible for so many people to enjoy this.

Nice series.
The last time I've been to Goodwood was at the Jaguar E-Type 50th Anni.
- Do they still have the food van with the Eggs and Bacon Baps for breaky?
- I have the impression that the ladies garments are more American 50/60's style than English.
- Is the biker riding a Norton single cylinder 500cc?

- 1. Yes, they still do.
- 2. Perhaps my shooting bias ;-)
- 3. Norton Mans 500cc from 1953 driven by Glenn English and John McGuinness during the Barry Sheene Memorial
I liked this one a lot: Rudge Special (500cc) from 1938:

and was truly impressed by their speed in the rain, even looking over their shoulder just after rounding a corner (Norton 30M from 1953):

Peter, I'm overwhelmed by the amount and the variation of this photogenic opportunity. And you surely captured great moments. I'm simply amazed! And I would not hesitate to echo Olivier. Thanks for sharing.

Always wondered if it would be worth going there. Now I know: yes, it is!
Thanks for sharing and adding some story background, Peter.

Thank you, Akira and Thomas. Grab the opportunity when you can.
