After the Photokina 2016 some of the participants decide to go for a trip to Delft that turned out to be full of Duckweed and Delicious photo opportunities.

The 105mm AFS 1.4 is hard not to like, here blue bicycle bell foreground is adequately thrown out of focus - Lovely rendering!

All really nice photos - I like what you did.

Yesterday, I have come to the conclusion, that if you want a full circular fish-eye image, you should use a full circular fish-eye.
On might claim that the 10.5 is sharper than the 8mm Sigma but I believe you lose a bit of image quality when merging the two images made by the 10.5. Also, the disadvantage is that you concentrate so hard on making the two without changing the perspective that you don't concentrate on the composition itself.
So no, I will not replace the 8mm Sigma with the 10.5DX.
You can make a circular image with the 10.5DX but with some drawbacks, including moving subjects in the frame when exposing twice, and last but not least, you need additional time in post processing to achieve something you could have with just one click of the shutter release :)

Climbing the wall downtown Delft.

Good post Jakov - makes sense to me.
As much as I like the circular Fisheye - I realised I will get more out of a standard fisheye - so I am hunting for a 15mm Sigma at present :)
-
Delft is a wonderful place. My friend Willem has a house in Molenstraat where we stayed two times. The Photographer is Bjørn obviously
-
Elsa, one can never have enough of fish-lenses.
I only have three :)
Frank, why don't we make a Delft walk through? It's a beautiful little town.
Here is 180/2.8 in IR.
And another 10.5 merge.

Once a scientist, always a scientist? ;)

We may wait until Willem gets back from his Asian experience. He will be a perfect host.
PS: Airy will have time for us next June he told me.

This is dangerous to me who would absent-mindedly try to "walk" to the door, thinking that the water covered with the duckweed is the lawn.

Climbing the wall downtown Delft.
And this is how it looked when I was lying on the ground. ;D

Thank you Chris. Two of my favourite male characters in this charade *gggg*
-
Chris, nice capture. I can hear the inner voice of the guy watching Bjørn and Jakov from the background. :D
-
Akira: Except no 'guy', rather Anna (Jakov's girl friend).

Just blame it on the lens.
@1.4 you can't recognize nothing after 1-2 meters. :D

Yes, I stand corrected. :)
I just wanted to say that, in American English, the word "guy" is used regardless of the gender. Hope no offense is taken.
