Title: Grand Marais, Minnesota

Grand Marais is a small old school town in northern Minnesota, hub for regional arts and crafts in the middle of vast wilderness next to great Lake Superior. Grand Marais is also known as gateway to "The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness" - a 1,090,000-acre (4,400 sq km) wilderness area within the Superior National Forest.

Couple weeks back I was there for 2 days, 5hrs drive from Minneapolis. Beautiful the town and scenery. Very versatile and rapid changing weather. In general summer is very very short in these areas. I reached there in afternoon, so starting with the evening shots.

** All the photos above are with Df, 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5. Light weight and plasticky - still I like this lens.

7. This gentleman in the photo woke up at least around 3am to reach the point from where he was taking pictures (hiking through a small stretch of forest to reach there).
