Lew, Although I can see exactly what you wanted to capture.  I am finding it difficult to "find" the image here.
bright sunlight in the front and the fact that the image is half skew takes away from the image. I would probably have gone closer - but of course I wasnt there - so who knows. Idea is great - execution not so much.
This is just my opinion.

I for one find such photos entertaining, at least when they are presented in a series together with more in-depth studies and not are too dominant. They set the atmosphere as it were, in the mood of Eggleston.

Seriously, I echo Røslett, I find it interesting, but more so if it was connected to a greater story.
