Hello all,
My name is Yanick, I live in the France Alps and photography is a hobby for me.
The main camera I use is a D300, but I also have a Fm2n and a D5100 which I intend to remove the IR filter when I have the guts... :-) for astrophotography.
Regarding the lenses, I have a few Nikkors e.g. AFS 12-24f4G, AFS 50f1.4G, AF 24f2.8D, AIS 105f1.8, AIS 180f2.8ED. and a P.C 35f3.5
I intend to have some of the manual focus lenses chipped if I can do it, so i will read the pages on this topic with interest.
There are several kinds of pictures I like to do : portraits, street photography, landscape, ... so I would say that I am not specialized !
Here is a view of the region where I live
best regards
Yanick

Welcome Yanick. You live in a beautiful place. Must be nice to have that setting so close to home.
Cheers,
Nick

Yanick welcome!
Really looking forward to photos from the Alps :)

Bonjour Yanick,
Nice to have fellow Frenchmen here! Airy and Rosko will probably chime in as well.
You live in my dreamplace obviously. I am currently thinking about relocating near the Alps. 15 years around Paris is more than enough...
We all are looking forward to seeing more from you

Bienvenue au forum, Yannick,
what a great place to live in.

Welcome! Do feel at home here and good luck with the chipping ;)

I'm sure I recognise the name Yanick, welcome!

Welcome, Yanick. Would love to see contributions and pics from your area. NG spans ever more of the diversity of its user community.
'Chipping' the 105/1.8, 180/2.8, and the 35/3.5 is not difficult. I can supply the hardware and you can do the modification yourself, or let Erik handle them for you.

Welcom to NG, Yanick. Should be nice to live close to such a beautiful vantage point.

Looks like the Grenoble area to me ... beautiful ... welcome!!!

Hello and many thanks to all of you for your kind words. I already feel at home :-)
Yes, the place is quite nice and give some very pleasant scenes and colors at sunrise or sunset. It is always a great pleasure to go for a ride and take photos !
It is not far from Grenoble but closer to Chambery, in the valley leading to Turin.
I will certainly share other views from the region.
@Olivier : every place has its strengh and weaknesses, but sometimes it is good to move and experience a different one... I did the same after living in Paris and Lyon for more than 10 years and don't regret it.
@ Bjørn Rørslett : thanks for the informations. I will come back to you for the hardware and will try to do it.
