We get similar prohibitions during any election , not just for the president.
Elections are held every 3 years

LOL ... I still remember those No Booze on Election Day laws from when I was growing up. Only two states in our union still enforce those "Blue Laws", (as they are called here). In the States, those laws were adopted to combat the quaint practice of politicians trading drink for votes.
