Testing my Z9 after the camera took a real tumble onto frozen ground. I'm waiting for my train connection and the screens of the railway station is covered by hoar frost crystals. It'll be so nice to arrive to Spain later today :)
By the way, apart from a few scratches on the exterior, neither the 35Z nor the Z9 appears harmed. Good on me.

Fortunately, and the 35z a great lens, nice image!
-
Some deep bruises on the corners of the Z9 casing, nothing on the 35Z. However, the fit of the lens hood is slightly less firm. That's all. A tumble and drop of 1m to frozen ground is tough for any camera.

Parakeet, one of many in the woods of Lille Citadelle. Z6ii, Zeiss 135/2 ZF2 wide open. Cropped. Somewhat front-focussed: the focus confirmation square in the EVF works very precisely, but correctly guessing what the small square takes into account is the problem. Better use the magnifier in such case. Otherwise, the Zeiss works perfectly via the adapter.

The all black Zfc cameras were only sold in Australia directly by Nikon Australia and at quite a premium over the black and coloured panda versions available from camera shops and retailers. About an extra 20% IIRC.
It looks very nice as presented here.

The black body and top with the Olive Green inserts could be enticing for me. Others mileage might vary. ;D
The black body was only offered with black inserts here in Australia. Clearly there must be market dependent offerings for the Zfc.

Once in a while, the spring weather change can be comprehensive, but usually only lasts for a short while. Thus, we all of a sudden went from snow to +20C in the matter of two days. The natives read weather forecasts and are prepared for the heat challenge, whilst tourists obviously don't and do their sight-seeing attired in winter wear and woollen hats.
We might enjoy this until the weekend at which point the weather will be rainy and cold again.

Down town Oslo this afternoon, Nikkor Z 16-50 DX on the Z30.
Spectacular sharpness!

Nice one. I like it. It may, in fact, be the same view, but the sky and atmosphere perpetually recombine.

I like it Birna and it shows how good even the most simple cameras have gotten now.
-
I got the lens firstly in hope it would work for IR, secondly to allow the Z30 to be used in a snapshot fashion when Ruth and I travel in summer. On the first account, the 16-50 fails miserably as it has a huge IR hot spot, on the second account the lens does well enough so I'll keep it for that purpose only. Initially, I got the Z30 as a "host" for the Rodenstock Heligon; however it won't do any harm if the camera can be used in a wider context :)
The photographer, as always, is the limitation of what any camera can deliver.

Love it Daniel
esp the "Swiss Highland" malt !!!!
I'm sure it's delicious
Would Akira or anyone else from a country that makes Whisky that isn't Scotch care to nominate their national favourite?
Rather than clog up comments in the "April" thread, please add your nomination (and photo if possible) in the Food & drink thread below

Colin, maybe a whisky thread needs to be started? ;D
In my part of the world, NZ and both Mainland Australia and Tasmania have (legal) whisky producers. (Of course, the illegal ones have been busy for the last 200 odd years. LOL)
Love it Daniel

Wow Fons, super saturated (in every sense!)
Or is some of this the 200mm f/2 working its magic again? :)

Nice to see that some of you further north are starting to enjoy warmer weather and colorful flowers
At home we're getting to the hottest time of the year, it will cool down once it the rain starts in June
Another visit to the canyon north of the city
Trying a Fujinon 55-22 zoom, great for landscape, I'm not sure how it will work for street shooting, as the focus seems slow in comparison to my other Fuiji lenses

Ouch!
I've heard that Tesla sold in Norway (or in northern countries) has a diesel engine to generate the electric power to heat the batteries in winter. Does this wrecked one have one as well?
-
It appears to be a minor collision. That's probably the driver chatting on the road. Then there's the similarly stricken semi-articulated lorry in the background.
Tesla cars have no room for a diesel engine. The battery uses its own power to keep itself warm.

Thank you, Ian, for the correction. So, the battery life will be shorter in cold countries.

Greetings to Paco in El Puerto de Santamaria, sunny Spain, and the discussions we had there recently. I couldn't resist the temptation of making a screen shot of this video aired by the National broadcaster here today, showing snow clearing crew trying to find where the road runs :)

I've got a rough idea what Ian 's magnificent prehistoric muncher might be.
But what type of birds are flying above Birna's frozen blossom?
In the UK, they might have been pigeons but I'm not sure the wing shape looks right......
By the way, (delicate though the blossoms look), the birds complete the image for me
