.
I was considering purchasing one of the Nikkor DC lenses for use on my new Fujifilm IS Pro full spectrum body. Has anyone here tried either the 105mm or 135mm DC lens for IR or UV photography?
Thanks,
-
Don't think any of them would do much for UV, due to their optical complexity. I'll quickly run an IR hot-spot test for 105 & 135 DC later today and report back.

A quick search in my archive showed 105 DC making nice IR pictures, probably the same would hold for the 135 DC as their designs are quite similar. However I apparently hadn't used the 135 DC for IR.

Briefly tried the 135DC on my IR-modified D5300 and it appeared perfect.

Thanks so much for testing Birna. I'll be getting the 105 DC and will be sure to post here some IR images.
Also, once I get a UV filter I'll update you on how the 105DC does for UV (although based on your input I'm not expecting much).

Mention 'Nikon', 'UV', and '105mm', and the answer immediately and universally will be UV-Nikkor 105mm f/4.5 (or the Rayfact equivalent) :)

An very good alternative for 105mm IR is the Micro Nikkor 105mm f/4 it renders crisp and sharp images.
The DC 105mm AF-D f/2 is notoriously difficult to focus, I can only imagine it will be even more difficult in infrared, unless you use live view and a very steady set up

Thank you Erik. I'll check it out.
