The same tree welcoming a different guest. This is a brown-eared bulbul (Hypsipetes amaurotis). The former guest was a Japanese white-eye (Zosterops japonicus).
The bulbul is much more cautious than the white-eye, and I've never thought I was even able to direct a camera to it. Shot with the same combo and processed in the same way as the image posted on the 1st.

Thank you, Paco, for kind words!
I think the overall color and tone came from the remaining aberrations of this lowly lens, but I'm pleased with the rounded and gentle rendition it provids. It is a screwdrive-type AF-D zoom, so it is notoriously challenging to handhold and focus, though.

-
Thanks Paco, yes that lens works great on the Z 9 combining the excellent image quality with the spot on and fast autofocus.
As noticed before with the Z6 and Z7, the AF-S lenses perform better than on the F-mount, image quality is equal, or even better (with the FTZ), and the auto-focus is much better.
Personally I like the F mount lenses over the Z mount ones, they are too clinical, and too well corrected. Perhaps very sharp but also very standard picture book-images...

I am growing tired of winter. I live at 41.47 latitude north on the same line basically as Rome and Barcelona and yet here we were yesterday suffering through another snowfall and its aftereffects. At this time of year, there is little to compensate me for the headache of snowplowing and shoveling but we must endure, mustn't we?

I tried the 15/4.5 in the Nikon F non-retrofocus version, also on the Z cameras. This version is rarer than the L and both smaller and bigger at the same time, as it sticks deep into the camera throat but exposes a very flat exterior. There is some vignetting by the non-retrofocus design, however, so I mostly use this lens on my Z fc. A nice lens in either design (I sold off the L39 model when I ceased to use film).

Thanks for the clarification.
The vignetting is not too bad with this first version, although it matters which angle of light you use. And to my surprise it works pretty well on the Z9.
