I tried to get rid of the first picture, but couldn't...
At least we can compare both images according to the squeeze ratio.

@ Jan Anne : I used the 300mm f4.5 ED NON IF manuel focus, on a tripod of course... I don't remember whether I used a close-up ring.
@ Fons : I guess this butterfly is less common in Nederland. I shot this one in the Southwest of France (near Marmande).

I AM WRONG ABOUT THE LENS USED...
It's not the 500mm, but my 300mm f/4.5 ED non IF (AIPed by Dr lens and Birna)
