Title: DF grip hack
Post by: Snoogly on July 26, 2021, 02:59:59
I take no credit for this, as I just copied what I saw on a Japanese blog.

Cheap base plate from Aliexpress

JHT Nikon 'leather'

Due to the shape of the hand grip it is necessary to use two pieces of 'leather'. I chamfered some of the 'leather' edges slightly to take away the hard edges.

Arca base plate, and an optional side plate. The only real bummer is the poor quality of the mounting bolt on the base, so I swapped it out for the sexy one from the Gariz grip.

I have no idea how long it will take for the leather to start peeling - but I have a lot left over! :-)

I am very happy with this. It feels less ... 'soft' than the Gariz grip, and feels nice in the hand.

Nice, I have a similar grip, had to file a bit on the bottom to have a perfect fit. The leather is a nice add on.
