Newborn fig tree
Trees will grow in very strange places, and if they can't push through they will incorporate the obstacle.
I have seen an entire street post which had been planted too near to a big tree which got eaten up by the tree, only a part of the pole and the street name were visible... I will post it when I find it.
This photo was taken today, a fig tree was born under a heavy grid, given enough time it will expand to devour the grid or part of it
