I was thinking graffiti is something you find all over the places. I personally do not like most of them, but it might be an interesting topic.

I agree, i also find that most graffiti is kinda mweh (even though i can't do it myself).
Very interesting juxtaposition between the (i presume) guy sitting right over the graffiti heart ;D

Homage to Banksy
I would draw a border between taggers, which are just devastating the cities, and graffiti painters, where sometimes you see some pieces of real art
On the wall of a bakery in my hometown, the original is by Banksy, there is a large graffiti maker community in Bologna, but I suspect it's a stencil derived from the original.

Graffiti, Via del Pratello, Bologna
One of the most densely graffiti-populated area is via del Pratello.
This street is also having a large amount of bars, bistrots, ... , and an intense night life... in non-COVID times! (curfew is at 22:00 nowadays).

That was me taking rest during my hiking. That was the only sitting position for me to not get to the way of the graffiti :)

While experimenting with the 10.5mm DX-Fisheye on full frame, I came across this face...
Nikon D810 + 10.5 mm f/2.8 AF DX Fisheye-Nikkor (shaved hood)
The shaved-hood 10.5mm has enough power to fill the FF frame, too bad the image isn't a whole circle (you'd need an 8-8.5mm fisheye to achieve that!). If I remember correctly, NG longtime contributor Seapy has devised a tool for composing two frames (with a tripod), one landscape and the other portrait to get a circular frame from a 10.5mm. I tried composing handheld shots with Photoshop, it works but you have to be very accurate in framing the shots!

An excellent use of the fisheye!
We are the robots!
Thanks, Akira!
A fisheye allows a photographer to go beyond the original intentions of the graffiti artist, I have more of the same graffito showing what I mean. Meanwhile, here's another one in my neighborhood.

... the original is by Banksy
Hi Massimo
I'm lucky enough to have lived in the city of Bristol whilst Banksy was learning his trade.
In the 1990's I used to see his name sprayed on a main bridge into town and had no idea what was to follow!

Lucky you!
To avoid getting their shutters plagued by taggers, many shop owners have their shutters painted with a full-size work. Taggers will respect "serious" work and will tag elsewhere.
Here's one depicting a dead MotoGp biker, #58 Simoncelli aka SIC, unavoidably killed by Rossi during a race.

You find and present very good examples. They also look so clean and well made and not rushed at all. I guess they are allowed -even encouraged to- make them?

Thanks Paco. Yes, it is allowed and encouraged. Since 2020 it's the official City Policy to promote Wall Art. Designs are discussed with the artist and the neighbourhood.

Bomb Shelter signs from WWII
In my hometown the signs from WWII are protected by law and regularly maintained for historical reasons.
These two arrows were indicating the entrance to an underground bomb shelter. Other shelters are marked with "RIFUGIO" surrounded by a black circle.

Nice Thread.
I would say some of the Graffiti is some Great art work.
The tagging part would not be so much.

This one is from a village in Provence, the names on garbage bins are

Bill (Gates ?)
The village is inhabited mostly by "alternative" people (I am not giving any negative prejudice here, don't get me wrong!), see the "Pretend it's 1995" photo in another thread...

Very strange. Elon is the only one who doesn’t need an extra initial, whereas the other two need one for clarification!

Yeah, it should have been the other way around, as Elon is an unusual name, while Joe and Bill are very common names. It could have been Joe Pesci (actor) and "Buffalo" Bill Cody (cowboy), but it's very likely that the persons I mention are the ones the graffitist was meaning...

I'm never sure whether some of these images should be in a thread for "Street Art", if one exists.
I'd be interested to know how work like this is produced, being pretty much photorealistic.
It certainly makes for a more interesting urban environment

I'm not sure Armando.
I saw a lot more yesterday that all had a photorealistic look about them.
I'd love to know their method, but i'm pretty sure these aren't large prints stuck to the wall....

Looks similar to airbrush technique. I assume it needs a lot of color spray cans for it. And some skills.

Here is another i found at the weekend.
Closeup, then also in context of the side of the building
The blue portrait is done directly on large block work bricks.
In the frame of the upper one you can see edges, but its unclear if the work was brought here in sections, or if this part is made like that & they painted onto it

Painted at home, and also some glueing of pieces, the final image glued to the wall. Maybe not graffiti, but definitey some kind of street art.
Even the woman shooting the picture is 2-dimensional (look at the legs!) and part of the artwork.
