well, my sample sucks...but it looks decent at f/8 :o :o :o

I always held the 35-70/3.5 (72mm thread) in quite high regard. Image contrast was not stellar, true, however sharpness is very good on my sample and that of one of my friends.

mine is very temperamental :o :o :o

it's quite good when there's no overblown parts of the scene ::)

I do not recognize the drawbacks in your article, except for the flare and the focus distance.

My sample is very sharp, even wide open.  And has an unique and lovely rendering.   The extra LoCa you describe is not there on my sample
