Hello everyone,
First of all, it feels so great to have found the resurrection of NikonGear! I’ve followed many seniors of NikonGear and have utmost respect for them. They have always been very inspiring to me. I’m a photo enthusiast & an amateur photographer from Bangalore, India. I love to travel. Mostly interested in candid and landscape photography. I always believed that gears don’t make good photographs; it’s the person behind the gears. I started shooting in Canon Film point & shoot camera —> Canon S80 —> Nikon D200. Since I like to travel light I’ve been using 18-200mm VR II though I know it’s not the most rationale choice.
You can see my work at https://www.flickr.com/photos/anirbanh/
Looking forward to learn a lot with you all.
Regards,
Anirban

Welcome on board. The more the merrier, and a wider geographical audience means we all benefit from new impulses or tales from foreign worlds.
-
Thanks Bjørn! Will indeed share my tales.

Tom - you live in paradise. It's beautiful state.
Frank, Akira - you both are masters in this field. I'm learning from you everyday.

Anirban, thanks for your "all-too kind" comment. Frank is a pro photog, and I'm a sloppy hobby photog. He's miles away from me, although both of us seem to love nasty jokes! :D
Anyway, glad to know you are enjoying here!

Welcome to the forum :-) I used to be a "Bengali whalla" from Kolkata, but that was in another life !
-
Thanks Jacques. You lived in Calcutta? Though I don't live there any longer, it's a heaven in terms of photo opportunity.
-
Being pro does not mean my photos are good.
It just means my photos are of commercial value to my customers.
The talent Anirban spoke of was story telling.
Having spent half my professional life as a writer that I can claim is what I really learned.

I agree, but at that time I was under twelve years old, though I did have a sort of cheap camera working on 6x3cm negatives on 120 rolls. Most of my pictures were of my cat and my mangoose !!! I didn't yet scan all of those, I guess I'll have time when I retire :-)
