Title: Wary
Post by: Screamin Scott on March 27, 2020, 20:26:07
A member of the Plover family, most of which are shorebirds but this one is not exclusively a shorebird. They make their nests on the ground and attempt to distract predators away from the nest by feigning injury. Shot with 1st version of a Nikkor 80-400 on a D610

Pretty bird, and a nice photo.  Even with a 400 mm lens you must have been able to get quite close.  Welcome to Nikongear.  Cheers,  John

Here is a shot of the eggs from today.... The bird was away from the nest but still close enough as that I could see her. I didn't touch the nest ar all though.
