Beautiful finds, Elias and John!
Elias, this is an interesting theme. You may want to add "[Theme]" in front of the title of the thread to make that clear.I have added [Theme] to the posts - Erik

Thank you Akira for your comment.

Interesting thread !
My turn...

Francis I never sow again a frozen water web, it’s amazing ;D
-
Thanks, Nasos !
This is very rare to get something frozen like that. Must be very cold, with strong wind and humidity... ;)
-
Nice Theme :)
Great shots everyone 8)
Not much for Spiders this time of year here.
The fall is the best with the dew on the web.
A couple from the past

Very nice Ken.
The following shot was taken on a cold morning close to the Greek border with Bulgaria.

Misty webs
From a recent November outing, with a lot of mist in the air, all spider webs became instantly noticeable...

Haven't seen such...
-
With bird feeder and a bullish bull.
-
Two very striking images
Lovely sunset colours here Dogman
Haven't seen such...
Me neither Akira
At first I wondered if they were seeds....but no, it looks like my attempts at sewing
(and spiders are normally excellent threadsters)
I'm sure Birna may have some ideas though.

Yes. I wish Birna or maybe Fons would chime in!

Indeed, very creative and elaborate!

So, it has got some food. I wish I had a dedicated macro lens, preferably of a 100-200mm class...
When the spider detects me, it shakes the web fervently possibly to scare me.
-
The zigzag structure is a stabilimenta, used by the Argiope family of spiders. Its function is still debated but it reflects UV and could be attracting preys.
The web shake is to fuzz it in front of a predator. You look like a predator, Akira :)

Bruno, Thank you so much for the identification and the explanation of this intriguing spider! I'm not predator but it surely could prevent me from shooting its motion. ;D

Thanks, I was trying out a macro lens. What I see is that the sensor is a little dirty, and I haven't finished cleaning it completely.
